What makes a good landing page?
An effective Landing page has one purpose and one purpose only. That is to sell the product or service featured on the web page or to get information from the potential/existing clients. So in creating a landing page, keep that in mind. Here are a few of the DO’s and DON’T’s that I have learned about landing pages.
DON’T clutter your page with useless information that is not related to your product. This is the bait covered hook that gets them to buy or leave there information. You want it small enough that the fish will bite.
DO put what you are selling (which could mean an idea, person, product, or anything you could convince someone to mentally “buy”, it doesn’t HAVE to be JUST a sales page) first and foremost, with a few of the most interesting things about it right on top.
DO put the sale or free product invitation in an easily viewable place. That is the real bait. That is what will make or break the deal. It will weed out non-serious browser really quick and hook the serious ones just as fast.
Cell phone providers are AMAZING at building landing pages (though they are imbedded and tend to be fairly cluttered). Also, any big company that you KNOW advertises online uses them for sales and lead generation. I would suggest looking at a few of those for ideas.
